The Candidate;<ul>
<li>Previous experience in ship agency, freight forwarding or a related maritime role</li><li>Strong knowledge of port operations, shipping regulations, and documentation procedures.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.</li><li>Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for port call management and documentation.</li><li>A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to handle unexpected challenges calmly and efficiently.</li><li>Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by vessel schedules.</li></ul>
Duties and Responsibilities;<ul>
<li>Oversee agency activities to ensure they are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with port requirements.</li><li>Safeguard goods and materials during agency operations.</li><li>Drive the development of shipbroking activities, ensuring these are conducted with safety and efficiency in mind.</li><li>Assist in producing bids and quotations for new business, identifying and securing chartering, agency, and shipbroking contracts.</li><li>Supervise day-to-day operations, including staff oversight, customer service, and adherence to quality standards.</li><li>Optimize the use of resources to meet quality, financial, and environmental goals.</li><li>Plan, execute, and document work using company systems, as required.</li><li>Assist in organizing and training agency staff, monitoring performance, and encouraging their development.</li><li>Foster positive working relationships, motivate staff, and promote teamwork to achieve productivity targets.</li><li>Ensure effective and prompt communication with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.</li><li>Provide outstanding customer service and identify opportunities to enhance services for new and existing clients.</li><li>Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards</li></ul>
