Plate Mounter Operative

Position Title: Plate Mounter Operator
Location: Greater Manchester
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts 8am – 4pm
Salary: 26,031.60

Aspion are recruiting for a Plate Mounter Operative for a leading company near the Wigan area who are looking to expand their team.  You will be responsible for mounting flexographic printing plates onto printing cylinders or sleeves in preparation for printing. This is a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of the production process. You will work with cutting-edge machinery, follow detailed instructions, and ensure that all mounted plates meet the required quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.

This is a support role therefore training will be given on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately mount flexographic printing plates onto the cylinders or sleeves according to job specifications.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks of the plates, ensuring they are properly aligned and free from defects.
  • Operate and maintain plate mounting machinery and equipment, ensuring machines are functioning correctly and safely.
  • Prepare plates, tools, and materials for each job in line with production schedules.
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify and resolve minor machine issues or plate defects to prevent downtime.
  • Complete required documentation, including production logs and quality checklists, to ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Work closely with other team members, including production managers, quality control personnel, and machine operators, to ensure efficient workflow.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Plate Mounter or worked in an Operator role.
  • Excellent eye for detail to ensure precision in mounting plates and performing quality checks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with equipment or processes.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the manufacturing environment.
  • Clear communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move heavy materials, and work in a fast-paced environment.
