CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator AM & PM Shifts Available Location: Dudley Salary: £19 per hour AM Shift / £20 per hour PM Shift Reference: ASPLIV Industry: Fasteners Our client, a well-established precision engineering business based in Dudley, is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their growing manufacturing team. This position would suit an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator with strong knowledge of CNC machining and Fanuc-controlled machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components in line with customer drawings, specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities: - Programming CNC machinery to produce components to specification. - Setting and operating CNC machines with Fanuc controls. - Working in line with customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements. - Ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high levels of quality, safety and efficiency. - Carrying out first-off and self-inspection to ensure components meet tight tolerances. - Proving out programmes at the machine and making adjustments where required. - Working with minimal supervision following training, demonstrating strong initiative and understanding of manufacturing processes. - Reporting tooling requirements to the supervisor. - Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times. - Supporting continuous improvement in quality, efficiency and machine performance. - Undertaking training and development programmes as required. - Taking a responsible approach to health, safety and environmental risks, reporting any concerns appropriately. - Carrying out any other duties commensurate with the role. Requirements: - Previous experience as a CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator is essential. - Strong experience setting and operating Star and/or Citizen sliding head CNC machines is highly desirable. - Experience working with Fanuc controls. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. - Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment. - Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling. - Ability to carry out self-inspection using precision measuring equipment. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. - Good understanding of health & safety within a manufacturing environment. - Commitment to quality, efficiency and continuous improvement. This position would suit an experienced Sales Estimator with a strong background within the fastener industry and proven experience costing and estimating jobs independently. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting customers, preparing accurate quotations, and ensuring projects are priced competitively whilst maintaining target margins. This position would suit an experienced Sliding Head CNC Setter/Operator with strong experience setting and operating Star Micronics and/or Citizen Machinery sliding head lathes within a precision engineering environment. Responsibilities - Setting and operating Star and Citizen Sliding Head CNC machines. - Loading programs, tooling, and materials to ensure efficient production runs. - Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions. - Carrying out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, gauges, and shadowgraphs. - Making offsets and minor program adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and process capability. - Monitoring machine performance and troubleshooting production issues to minimise downtime. - Changing tooling and carrying out routine machine maintenance where required. - Manufacturing components to tight tolerances and exact customer specifications. - Recording production data, inspection results, and machine performance information accurately. - Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment. - Working closely with programmers, engineers, quality personnel, and production supervisors to improve quality and efficiency. The company would also consider an exceptionally strong Setter/Operator looking to develop their programming capabilities. Responsibilities: Programming, setting and operating CNC Turning machines using Fanuc controls. Reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings. Setting up tooling and materials for production runs. Manufacturing components to tight tolerances and high quality standards. Producing components from stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium. Programming directly at the machine using online programming. Conducting quality checks throughout the manufacturing process. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
