About the Role

Commissioning Engineer

North West

£45,000 – £50,000 (dependent on experience) + benefits

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer to join a specialist engineering business operating within HVAC, water systems, cleanroom validation and commissioning services.

The business supports major healthcare, pharmaceutical and cleanroom clients across the UK.

The Commissioning Engineer must be confident representing the business on client sites and maintaining high professional standards.

 

Responsibilities of the Commissioning Engineer

The Commissioning Engineer, will be responsible for delivering commissioning and validation services across HVAC and water systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.

  • Carry out commissioning, testing and balancing activities across HVAC air and water systems to ensure systems are operating efficiently and compliantly
  • Perform domestic water balancing, TMV verification and associated system set up activities
  • Conduct air and water balancing activities in accordance with industry best practice and recognised engineering standards
  • Produce accurate commissioning documentation, technical reports and project handover records
  • Support client handovers by explaining completed works and system performance in a clear and professional manner
  • Deliver projects safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, consultants and site teams
  • Act as a professional representative of the business whilst working on customer sites
  • Travel across the North West and occasionally further afield, including overnight stays when required
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures, health and safety requirements and quality standards
  • Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to support successful project delivery
  • Participate in ongoing training and development activities to continually enhance technical knowledge and skills

 

Requirements of Commissioning Engineer

  • Proven experience in HVAC commissioning and balancing
  • Grade 3 CAS or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of air and water systems commissioning
  • Experience working to CIBSE and BSRIA standards
  • Ability to complete accurate test sheets and technical reports
  • Strong communication skills when dealing with clients
  • CSCS Skill Card  
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel and work away when required

The successful Machine Shop Manager must have a proven track record of building, setting up or significantly developing a machine shop operation. The Machine Shop Manager will take responsibility for developing the department, introducing effective CNC processes and supporting the installation and commissioning of new machinery at the recently acquired site. They need a Machine Shop Manager with a hands on machine shop background who understands CNC machining, someone who is comfortable working on the shop floor and willing to get involved. The Machine Shop Manager will initially manage a machine shop team of 6, with responsibility for people, machinery, materials, quality and production performance. As the site develops, the department is expected to grow and eventually include an onsite maintenance team.
