A thrilling opportunity for a new position has emerged with a prominent forwarder, seeking a seasoned Customs Broker. This role is focused on managing customs data entry to guarantee that all clearance procedures are executed compliantly and efficiently.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in customs, encompassing either import or export operations, ideally with experience in alcohol clearances.

The Candidate;

  • Previous experience processing import and export customs declarations is essential.
  • Experience using Descartes customs software would be a significant advantage.
  • Previous experience completing alcohol customs entries and handling excise goods would be highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of UK customs procedures, regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Competent decision making
  • Must have a flexible approach 

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Prepare, process and submit import and export customs declarations accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all customs documentation is completed in line with HMRC regulations and requirements.
  • Manage customs entries using relevant clearance software, ideally Descartes.
  • Process customs entries for alcohol and other excise goods where required.
  • Liaise with customers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and relevant authorities to resolve customs queries.
  • Ensure correct commodity codes, customs procedures and documentation are applied.
  • Maintain accurate records of customs entries and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor shipments and resolve any customs-related delays or discrepancies.
  • Support the wider team with day-to-day customs clearance operations.

Engineering Service Coordinator Heavy plant & plant hire sector Wembley, London £35,000 - £40,000 (flexible depending on experience) Monday - Friday, Days An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Service Coordinator to join a large and established UK plant and machinery operation based in Wembley. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating mobile engineering activity across a substantial national plant fleet, ensuring breakdowns, servicing, repairs and maintenance requirements are managed efficiently and accurately. The position will primarily support the Wembley operation while also providing coordination support across other UK locations when required. This is a fast-paced operational role suited to someone with strong organisation, engineering knowledge and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. The Candidate; - Previous experience as a Service Controller, Service Coordinator, Engineering Coordinator or similar. - Experience coordinating engineers, technicians or mobile service teams. - Good understanding of maintenance, repairs and breakdown management. - Strong organisational and planning skills. - The ability to manage multiple jobs and competing priorities. - Excellent communication skills. - Strong attention to detail. - Experience maintaining accurate engineering or maintenance records. - Confidence using scheduling, service management and Microsoft Office systems. - The ability to communicate effectively with engineers, depot teams and management. - A proactive approach to problem solving. - Experience within plant machinery or heavy equipment would be advantageous. - Flexibility to support the operation outside of standard hours when required. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the delivery of engineering, servicing and maintenance activity across the southern region, ensuring machinery remains safe, reliable, compliant and operational. The wider business operates a substantial national fleet of approximately 8,000 plant assets, supported by a network of depots, workshops and engineering teams across the UK. This is a senior operational leadership position rather than a hands-on engineering role. The Engineering Operations Manager will oversee regional engineering activity, coordinate workshop and mobile engineers, manage planned and reactive maintenance, support breakdown response and ensure engineering resources are deployed effectively across the region.
