About the Role

Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Wakefield

Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 (dependent on experience) + overtime

 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established heavy industrial manufacturing site based in Leeds. This role offers long term stability, strong overtime opportunities, and the chance to join a highly experienced engineering team.

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will maintain electrical equipment across the site, respond to breakdowns and carrying out fault finding and repairs. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring plant and machinery remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

The Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

  • Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical plant, production equipment and site services
  • Electrical fault finding and breakdown response across production machinery
  • Identifying root causes of equipment failures and implementing corrective actions
  • Supporting development and improvement work to extend the life and efficiency of plant equipment
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with company health and safety procedures
  • Recording maintenance work using recognised documentation and procedures
  • Participating in an on-call rota to respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime

 

This role requires someone who can work independently, problem solve and think on their feet, identifying practical solutions to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

 

Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

  • Apprentice Trained Electrician or HNC in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong Electrical fault-finding experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
  • Experience working with contactors, relays, inverters, motors and PLCs
  • Ability to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to health and safety standards
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Happy to participate in the on-call rota
