About the Role
Electrical Technician
New Holland, Humberside
£45,000 - £48,000 (depending on experience)
Monday to Friday, 9-hour shifts (06:00–15:00) + occasional weekend work (as required)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Technician to join a leading bulk terminal operation based in Barton upon Humber. The Electrical Technician will play a key role in maintaining and repairing heavy industrial plant and ship loading equipment within a fast-paced port environment, supporting the safe and efficient movement of bulk materials critical to UK supply chains.

The Candidate;
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification is required
- Strong experience in electrical fault finding
- Experience working on plant machinery or heavy industrial equipment
- Previous exposure to ship loading or bulk handling systems (desirable)
- Understanding of permit-to-work systems and health & safety compliance
- HNC / ONC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), or apprentice trained with further qualifications
- Proven experience in a heavy industrial environment (e.g. ports, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, or processing)
- Strong understanding of control systems, PLCs, and industrial electrical systems
- Good understanding of health & safety legislation and safe systems of work
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Carry out electrical maintenance on heavy industrial plant and machinery
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs on industrial electrical systems
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown support
- Work on ship loading systems and bulk material handling equipment
- Ensure safe isolation of equipment before maintenance activities
- Complete accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation
- Operate within strict permit-to-work and health & safety procedures
