About the Role

Electrical Technician

New Holland, Humberside

£45,000 - £48,000 (depending on experience)  

Monday to Friday, 9-hour shifts (06:00–15:00) + occasional weekend work (as required)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Technician to join a leading bulk terminal operation based in Barton upon Humber. The Electrical Technician will play a key role in maintaining and repairing heavy industrial plant and ship loading equipment within a fast-paced port environment, supporting the safe and efficient movement of bulk materials critical to UK supply chains.

The Candidate;

  • 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification is required
  • Strong experience in electrical fault finding
  • Experience working on plant machinery or heavy industrial equipment
  • Previous exposure to ship loading or bulk handling systems (desirable)
  • Understanding of permit-to-work systems and health & safety compliance
  • HNC / ONC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), or apprentice trained with further qualifications
  • Proven experience in a heavy industrial environment (e.g. ports, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, or processing)
  • Strong understanding of control systems, PLCs, and industrial electrical systems
  • Good understanding of health & safety legislation and safe systems of work
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Carry out electrical maintenance on heavy industrial plant and machinery
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs on industrial electrical systems
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown support
  • Work on ship loading systems and bulk material handling equipment
  • Ensure safe isolation of equipment before maintenance activities
  • Complete accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation
  • Operate within strict permit-to-work and health & safety procedures
