About the Role

We are seeking a highly driven Internal Business Development & Account Manager to join our fantastic client in the West Midlands.  

My client specialises in the Metals & Engineering industry. You’ll be responsible for managing and growing existing accounts while also generating new business opportunities from within. If you’re passionate about forging strong relationships, have a hunger to succeed, and want a role where your efforts directly influence success, this is for you!

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and nurture a portfolio of existing clients in the metals sector, ensuring satisfaction and retention
  • Identify and pursue new business leads and cross-selling opportunities within target markets
  • Handle enquiries, prepare quotes, and convert prospects into orders
  • Work closely with external sales, operations, and production teams to coordinate order fulfilment
  • Maintain detailed CRM records of customer interactions, pipeline, and performance
  • Meet and exceed agreed sales targets, KPIs, and growth objectives
  • Provide market feedback, competitor analysis, and suggest strategies for growth

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in account management, business development, or internal sales, ideally in the metals, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
  • A strong relationship builder — confident, personable, and excellent at maintaining customer loyalty
  • Highly driven, self-motivated, with grit and determination to hit targets
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Organised, with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Comfortable working in a target-driven environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools advantageous
