QHSE Manager

Aspion Search is partnering with a long-established engineering manufacturer to hire a hands-on QHSE Manager. The business operates across multiple UK sites and is known for excellent staff retention and strong technical capability. The QHSE Manager will lead Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental standards across its UK sites.

The Role of the QHSE Manager:

The QHSE Manager will lead the QHSE strategy, acting as the driving force behind compliance, operational excellence, and cultural change.

This is a newly created role where you will have real freedom to modernise systems, develop standards, build engagement, and shape long-term performance. Responsibilities of the QHSE Manager:

  • Lead the QHSE strategy across multiple UK sites, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and internal standards.
  • Develop, implement and maintain QHSE policies, procedures, and management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits and certifications.
  • Own incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety culture, quality performance and environmental standards.
  • Develop and maintain risk assessments, safe systems of work and associated documentation.
  • Work closely with Operations and Engineering to improve product quality and process reliability.
  • Deliver engaging QHSE training and toolbox talks across all levels of the business.
  • Support the rollout of 5S and lean workplace organisation initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with site QHSE champions and ensure consistent standards across all locations.

 

About the QHSE Manager:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering / Manufacturing (or similar)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Lead Auditor ISO 9001 (ISO 14001 / 45001)
  • At least 3 year’s QHSE experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of production processes, machinery safety & quality systems
  • Experience working across multi-site operations
  • Background in “hands-on” environments
  • SAP experience
  • Confident communicator across all levels from shopfloor to senior leadership.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with strong coaching and influencing ability.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Someone ambitious, capable, and looking for long-term progression within the business.
