Quality Inspector Location: Stockport Salary: £39,500-£41,500 per annum (DOE) Hours: 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday Reference: ASPLIV Are you an experienced Quality Inspector with strong CMM and metrology experience? Our client is looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to join their Quality team, responsible for ensuring products meet specified requirements and comply with the company's ISO 9001 standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector who enjoys a hands on role involving CMM inspection, conventional metrology, first off inspection, non conformance, and working closely with Production and Engineering to maintain high quality standards. Responsibilities: Perform incoming, in-process and final inspections. Inspect products against drawings, specifications and tolerances. Operate and program CMM equipment for dimensional inspection. Use CMMs and conventional metrology equipment including micrometres, verniers and bore gauges. Produce inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records/FAI documentation. Ensure equipment is calibrated and inspection results are fully traceable. Identify, segregate and report non-conforming products, raising NCRs where required. Carry out first-off inspections and support Production with quality issues. Work with Production and Engineering to resolve dimensional and drawing-related issues. Support quality KPIs, root cause analysis and continuous improvement. Requirements: Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector within an engineering, manufacturing, or precision engineering environment. Strong CMM operation and programming experience. Good understanding of conventional metrology and dimensional inspection techniques. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience using inspection equipment including micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, and CMMs. Experience producing inspection reports and maintaining accurate quality records. Understanding of ISO 9001 quality requirements. Experience dealing with non-conforming products and raising NCRs. Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Ability to work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams. A proactive approach to identifying quality issues and opportunities for improvement. Good communication skills with the confidence to challenge where quality requirements are not being met. Lead Sliding Head CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator - Star & Citizen Machines Location: Dudley Salary: £45,000-£51,000 per annum depending on experience Reference: ASPLIV Industry: Fasteners Our client, a well-established precision engineering business based in Dudley, is looking to recruit an experienced Lead Sliding Head CNC Setter/Operator to join their growing manufacturing team. Responsibilities Setting and operating Star and Citizen Sliding Head CNC machines. Loading programs, tooling, and materials to ensure efficient production runs. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions. Carrying out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, gauges, and shadowgraphs. Making offsets and minor program adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and process capability. Monitoring machine performance and troubleshooting production issues to minimise downtime. Changing tooling and carrying out routine machine maintenance where required. Manufacturing components to tight tolerances and exact customer specifications. Requirements Previous experience setting and operating Star and/or Citizen Sliding Head CNC lathes. Strong understanding of CNC machining principles and precision engineering practices. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements. Experience using precision measuring equipment and carrying out quality inspections. Knowledge of tooling selection, tool life management, and machine optimisation techniques. Ability to identify and resolve machining and quality issues independently. Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components. Experience with Fanuc controls and programme edits would be advantageous. Desirable Experience: Apprenticeship or formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience working within aerospace, medical, automotive, oil & gas, or other precision engineering sectors. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Do you have proven experience setting and operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines and working to tight machining tolerances? Responsibilities: - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the yard in line with management plans and operational objectives. - Manage, coordinate, and allocate work to yard operatives to ensure workloads are completed efficiently. - Direct traffic within the yard and work closely with the weighbridge to ensure all loads are loaded and unloaded safely and efficiently. - Check incoming and outgoing deliveries for quality and compliance. - Ensure all loads are correctly documented through the weighbridge. - Monitor yard activities to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the Yard Management System. - Maintain high standards of Health & Safety across the yard and ensure procedures are followed by all employees. - Ensure environmental controls and procedures are maintained across the site. - Identify and address operational issues quickly and effectively. - Work closely with management to ensure the yard operates efficiently and meets business objectives. - Support and lead the yard team, promoting a positive and professional working environment. Requirements: - Previous supervisory or management experience within a busy operational environment. - Experience within the waste management industry is essential. - Experience within scrap metal, recycling, quarrying, aggregates, or a similar industrial environment would be advantageous. - Strong understanding of Health & Safety within a yard or industrial setting. - Experience coordinating teams, allocating workloads, and managing day-to-day operations. - Good understanding of environmental regulations and workplace compliance. - Strong organisational and communication skills. - A hands-on approach with the confidence to work alongside operational teams. - Health & Safety and/or environmental qualifications would be advantageous. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding operational environment.
