We’re working in partnership with a UK-leading metal recycling business who are looking to appoint a Quality Inspector to join their busy operations team in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business at the forefront of sustainable recycling — ensuring that quality, safety, and compliance remain at the heart of operations.

Package Details:

  • 06:30 – 17:30 Monday to Friday – Must be able to work 1 week of Nights 18:00-06:00, every 4-5 weeks when vessels are being loaded.

The Role:

As a Quality Inspector, you’ll be responsible for monitoring the quality of incoming and outgoing materials within a high-volume metal recycling environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and assess the quality of incoming merchant deliveries (up to 25 tonnes worth of material).
  • Identify and remove non-conforming materials such as wood, concrete, tyres, and dirt.
  • Visually inspect loads — working with crane operators to review and assess loads.
  • Oversee quality of materials loaded onto vessels, liaising with customer inspectors and the commercial team.
  • Monitor and report any battery-containing items to prevent fire risks.
  • Report all non-conformances via the internal WhatsApp group and maintain accurate visual records (photos).
