Job Overview
Aspion are currently seeking experienced Class 1 (HGV) Container Drivers operating out of Liverpool. This role involves transporting containers to and from the docks and customer sites across the North West and wider UK.
A dock card (e.g. Port Skills and Safety / RHIDES) is preferred but not essential, provided you have proven container driving experience and a strong understanding of port procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport shipping containers safely and efficiently to and from ports and delivery locations
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Ensure all loads are secure and compliant with legal requirements
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately and on time
- Adhere to all driving laws, tachograph regulations, and company policies
- Maintain excellent communication with transport planners and customers
- Represent the company professionally at all times
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Minimum 1–2 years Class 1 driving experience (container experience preferred)
- Experience with port work and container haulage
- Dock card (preferred but not essential)
- Good knowledge of UK road networks
- Strong safety awareness and reliability
