Spare Driver Shifts There are also opportunities for spare driver shifts. These will be specifically booked and paid as 4 or 5-hour spare shifts, with a payment of £100. Where a driver is booked for a standard 12-hour shift, they will be paid for the full 12 hours even if they are not required to work for the entire shift, subject to the agreed booking arrangement. Shifts can sometimes flex depending on operational requirements, so flexibility is important. This is an important part of the role and will be explained clearly during the recruitment process.
