About the Role

Health & Safety Manager  

Ellesmere Port

£40,000 - £50,000 (flexible depending on experience)  

Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

A market-leading manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join its team in Ellesmere Port. This is a key role, responsible for driving a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility across the site. Working closely with the General Manager, the successful candidate will play a pivotal part in ensuring compliance, improving efficiency, and embedding sustainable practices throughout manufacturing operations.

The Candidate;

  • NEBOSH General Certificate with practical experience in improving safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • A background or experience within heavy industry, quarries or similar with a solid understanding of machinery is highly desirable
  • A Health & Safety background within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of building and embedding a positive “safety culture” in an industrial setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance.
  • Familiarity with audit processes and safety management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with regulatory bodies, management, and teams across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote and develop a strong safety culture across the Ellesmere Port site.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve health and safety practices in all manufacturing units.
  • Deliver regular training sessions to employees, ensuring safe working practices are embedded at every level.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead incident investigations and identify preventive measures to reduce risk.
  • Support environmental compliance and contribute to sustainability and ESG initiatives.

Workshop Manager HGV Garage Bridgend, South Wales £50,000 - £60,000 (flexible depending on experience) + Company Vehicle Monday - Friday, Days I'm currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to join a large family run business to work alongside the Head of UK Fleet in the management of HGV vehicle maintenance. Duties and Responsibilities; - Working closely with and reporting to the Garage Director - you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business. - Manage the onsite team of assorted garage staff including mechanics, welders, auto electricians and refrigerated unit technicians. - People management duties will include recruitment, selection, training and performance management - including evaluating the quality of the work being undertaken. - Log, evaluate and assign all work to be undertaken and schedule the order in which the work is to be undertaken. - Assess the work in such a way that complex work is properly assigned while quick and easy repairs are expedited through the garage. - Ensure staffing levels are in keeping with the operational needs and financial goals of the business. - Operate the facility in full compliance on all matters such as health and safely and quality standards. This responsibility will include the scheduling of regular audits of all agreed standards. - Ensuring that all work undertaken is recorded correctly, dated and retained for the purposes of road safety compliance. - Accurately record the movement and use of parts and update the stock records each day. - Liaise with the Garage Director weekly on the parts and consumables to be ordered each week. - Responsible for the end to end movement of all tranport units, in order to minimise their time in the garage workshop. - Deal with all operational issues that arise from time to time and resolve all matters to the satisfaction of the Garage Director. - Monitor the operation of the business and provide input for continuous improvements to systems, scheduling and manpower planning - especially around periods of exceptional or seasonal demands. - Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports and updates to the Garage Director.
