About the Role

Import Logistics Operator

Sea & Road Freight Forwarder

Liverpool City Centre (Hybrid Working)

£26,000 - £34,000 DOE + Bonus & Dividend Scheme

Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm

An employee-owned, well-established freight forwarding business is looking to recruit an Import Logistics Operator to join its growing Liverpool team.

Based in the prestigious Cotton Exchange, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced import professional who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish and wants to be part of a collaborative, supportive team.

The business operates across multimodal freight forwarding, handling ocean, road and air freight movements worldwide. The role will primarily focus on import sea freight, with opportunities to gain exposure to road freight operations.

As an Import Logistics Operator, you will take ownership of shipments throughout the full import process, ensuring customers receive a high level of service from booking through to final delivery.

The Candidate;

  • Previous freight forwarding or logistics operations experience
  • Strong import sea freight knowledge
  • Experience managing shipments from start to finish
  • Good understanding of Incoterms is desirable
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
  • Multi-modal experience, ideally sea & road freight
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads
  • Strong customer service skills

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Managing import sea freight shipments from start to finish
  • Coordinating FCL and deep-sea import movements
  • Liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and customers
  • Monitoring shipment progress and providing regular updates
  • Arranging transport and delivery requirements
  • Handling documentation and ensuring compliance with Incoterms
  • Managing customer queries and resolving operational issues
  • Working closely with third-party customs providers
  • Supporting road freight operations when required
