About the Role
Maintenance Engineer
Huddersfield
£35,000 to £45,000 (dependent on experience) + overtime + benefits
A global manufacturer based in Huddersfield is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their Maintenance team.
This role is a mix of electrical and mechanical work across factory build, testing and site installation. It’s a stable business with a strong reputation, long-term projects and clear scope for development.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer
- Build and assemble electrical and mechanical equipment within a factory environment
- Carry out testing, inspections and checks prior to delivery
- Support installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sites when required
- Complete electrical wiring, mechanical fit-out and sub-assemblies to drawings and specifications
- Ensure all work is completed in line with quality, safety and cGMP standards
- Take responsibility for job documentation and quality records
- Work to production schedules and take ownership of assigned tasks
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to deliver projects on time
Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualifications (C&G / NVQ / HNC / HND)
- Experience working within an FMCG environment
- Electrical installation experience
- Comfortable working in both factory and site-based settings
- Strong fault-finding skills
- Ability to read and work from drawings and specifications

Refrigeration Engineer

As a Refrigeration Engineer, you'll be working on heavy industrial ammonia-based refrigeration systems, within food and FMCG production environments.
The role covers service, maintenance, breakdowns and installation work, supported by in-house fabrication and coded welding teams. The Refrigeration Engineers are paid door to door and benefit from overtime.
