About the Role
Plater / Welder
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £15 – £20 per hour (depending on experience)
Industry: Heavy Fabrication / Pressure Vessels

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plater / Welder to join a well-established fabrication environment. This is a hands on role working with heavy plate and structural fabrication, with a strong focus on quality workmanship and precision welding.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within heavy fabrication, and ideally exposure to pressure vessels or similar high-spec, regulated environments.
We are also open to considering more junior Plater/Welders who have solid heavy plate experience and are looking to develop their skills further within a supportive, training-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication and welding of heavy plate components
- Working from technical drawings and fabrication specifications
- MIG/MAG welding (TIG experience beneficial but not essential)
- Assembly and preparation of steel structures
- Working on pressure-related or heavy-duty fabrication projects
- Ensuring high standards of quality and finish
- Adhering to health & safety procedures at all times
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plater / Welder in a fabrication environment
- Experience with heavy plate work essential
- Pressure vessel experience desirable but not essential
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Reliable, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and develop (for junior-level candidates)

- £15 – £20 per hour depending on experience
