About the Role

Refrigeration Engineer

£45,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience) + overtime

Field based

 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineer to join a long-established and highly respected industrial refrigeration business supporting customers across the UK food and manufacturing sectors.

This role offers long-term stability, good earning potential, and the opportunity to work on large-scale industrial ammonia refrigeration systems within a supportive team.

 

The Business

The Refrigeration Engineer will be joining a well-established industrial refrigeration specialist with decades of experience in the market. The business is known for its technical knowledge, long-serving engineering team and supportive culture.

 

The Role

As a Refrigeration Engineer, you’ll be working on heavy industrial ammonia-based refrigeration systems, within food and FMCG production environments.

The role covers service, maintenance, breakdowns and installation work, supported by in-house fabrication and coded welding teams. The Refrigeration Engineers are paid door to door and benefit from overtime.

The Industrial Refrigeration Engineer will be required to travel to customer sites across the UK.

 

Requirements of Refrigeration Engineer:

  • Experience in industrial refrigeration
  • Experience working with ammonia based refrigeration systems
  • Ammonia training and certification
  • Experience within food production or FMCG environments
  • Service, maintenance and fault-finding capability
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Happy to travel to UK customer sites
  • Proactive, reliable engineer with a strong technical mindset

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £40,000 – £52,000 (dependent on experience)
  • 40-hour week, paid door to door
  • Overtime: Time & a half and double time
  • Plenty of overtime available
  • 25 days holiday
  • Sick pay: 6 weeks full pay + 6 weeks half pay
  • Company pension: After 3 months (4% employer contribution)

The successful Machine Shop Manager must have a proven track record of building, setting up or significantly developing a machine shop operation. The Machine Shop Manager will take responsibility for developing the department, introducing effective CNC processes and supporting the installation and commissioning of new machinery at the recently acquired site. They need a Machine Shop Manager with a hands on machine shop background who understands CNC machining, someone who is comfortable working on the shop floor and willing to get involved. The Machine Shop Manager will initially manage a machine shop team of 6, with responsibility for people, machinery, materials, quality and production performance. As the site develops, the department is expected to grow and eventually include an onsite maintenance team.
