Our client is one of the UK's leading suppliers of specialist fasteners. Their reputation is built on quality, reliability, and innovation - and they are continuing to grow. To support this growth, they are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of their warehouse, purchasing, and quality functions, ensuring operational excellence across the business.
This is a key leadership role, reporting directly into senior management, and is ideally suited to someone who can balance strategic oversight with a practical, sleeves-rolled-up approach.
Responsibilities
Provide clear direction, set expectations, and hold teams accountable
Lead, motivate, and develop teams through effective communication
Run structured team meetings and quarterly performance reviews
Oversee day-to-day warehouse activity, ensuring stock accuracy and efficient workflows
Maintain a safe, compliant, and well-organised working environment
Manage and standardise purchasing processes
Reduce errors and ensure cost-effective, timely supply of materials
Maintain and improve quality standards across the business
Track, investigate, and resolve quality issues
Lead compliance activity and deliver quality-related training
Monitor KPIs and operational performance
Streamline processes and improve efficiency
Manage capacity planning and control operational costs
Requirements
Must-Haves
Proven experience within warehouse operations, purchasing, and quality management
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold people accountable
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Highly organised with excellent communication skills
Hands-on approach with a willingness to be involved on the ground
Desirable
Experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or fast-paced operational environment
Background in continuous improvement or operational change initiatives
