Mechanical Design Engineer

£40,000 - £50,000 + benefits (dependent on experience)
Aspion Search is partnering with a long-established engineering manufacturer to hire a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer. The business operates across multiple UK sites and is known for excellent staff retention and strong technical capability.

The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will work closely with the operations and manufacturing teams to support ongoing production and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Updating and maintaining existing engineering drawings
- Providing design and manufacturing support for day-to-day production
- Delivering cost reduction and capital project work
- Supporting quality systems and maintaining accreditations
- Promoting safety and continuous improvement across the site
- Troubleshooting and driving practical engineering solutions
About the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Degree-qualified or time-served Mechanical Engineer
- At least 2 year’s experience in a mechanical/manufacturing environment
- Comfortable with manual calculations/engineering maths.
- CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred, but other 3D CAD considered)
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems beneficial
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Motivated, physically active, and team-oriented
