Salary: £37,000 - £42,000 (dependent on experience)

Aspion Search is partnering with a well-established Warrington business to hire a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an even balance of mechanical and electrical capability. You’ll help maximise uptime across highly automated wash and inspection equipment used by leading names in UK logistics and retail.

The Role of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

You’ll deliver planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns across site machinery, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems (approx. 50/50 split)
• Diagnose and repair faults—from sensors and drives to bearings, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics and hydraulics
• Support root cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes/CI actions
• Maintain safety, hygiene, and quality standards and accurate maintenance records
• Collaborate with operations/production and escalate complex issues appropriately

About the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Time-served/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g., C&G, ONC)
• 5+ years in fast-paced, automated environments (FMCG, logistics, manufacturing, automotive, etc.)
• Confident with both disciplines:
  • Electrical: PLC fault-finding (inputs/outputs), inverters/VSDs, servo motors, control panels, sensors, three-phase
  • Mechanical: conveyors, chains, belts, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics/hydraulics
• Experience with PPM systems/CMMS and solid fault-finding methodology
• Desirables: HACCP L2/3, IOSH/NEBOSH; basic fabrication/welding skills
