Our client, a UK-leading independent metal recycling business, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of daily yard operations and lead a team of 10. This is a hands-on management role focused on operational flow, workforce coordination, safety, and smooth communication across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and managing a team of 10 within a busy yard environment
  • Acting as the central point of communication between the yard, transport team, management, and H&S
  • Planning and coordinating material movement in and out of the yard
  • Monitoring weekly throughput (currently 300–400 tonnes per week)
  • Ensuring all prepared materials are accurately recorded
  • Driving efficiencies, productivity, and safe working practices
  • Maintaining high standards of environmental and health & safety compliance
  • Supporting with FLT and grab operations when required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a yard environment
  • Proven experience managing or supervising a team
  • Strong planning and communication skills
  • Keen awareness of health & safety and the ability to ensure full compliance
  • FLT or grab experience beneficial

Package Details:

  • Salary: £40,000-£50,000 depending on level of experience
  • 22 days annual leave + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown
  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00–17:00 / Friday: 08:00–15:30
  • Permanent, full-time role within a respected name in the industry.

Our client, a respected manufacturer within the fastener industry, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team. This role plays a key part in maintaining standards across the production process, from goods-in to final release, ensuring all products meet both internal and customer quality expectations. Key Responsibilities Carry out inspections on incoming materials, components, and finished products in line with technical drawings and specifications. Complete all booking-in processes and maintain accurate inspection records. Identify, document, and manage any non-conforming materials or products. Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure ongoing compliance throughout manufacturing. Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes using appropriate measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and thread gauges. Work closely with production teams to address quality issues and promote best practices. Raise and manage NCRs, liaising with suppliers and customers when required. Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with internal quality audits. Ensure full traceability and documentation control in line with ISO and customer standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Quality Inspector within a fastener manufacturing or precision engineering environment. Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand measurement tolerances. Skilled in the use of manual and digital measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.). Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems. Experience in raising and managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality management software.
