We are currently recruiting for an experienced Band Saw Operative to join a busy steel processing environment. This is a key role within the production team, responsible for accurately cutting steel materials to specification and ensuring high levels of efficiency, quality, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Operating band saw machinery to cut steel to required specifications
- Operating overhead gantry crane
- Reading and working from cutting lists and production schedules
- Handling and preparing steel materials safely and efficiently
- Carrying out basic maintenance and checks on equipment
- Ensuring accuracy of cuts and minimising material waste
- Maintaining a safe and organised working environment
- Working closely with the production team to meet deadlines
- Undertake stock checks as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Band Saw Operative preferred but not essential
- Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable and team-focused approach
- Experience within a steel stockholding or processing environment desirable

Our client, a well-established precision engineering business based in Dudley, is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their growing manufacturing team.
This position would suit an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator with strong knowledge of CNC machining and Fanuc-controlled machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components in line with customer drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Programming CNC machinery to produce components to specification.
- Setting and operating CNC machines with Fanuc controls.
- Working in line with customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
- Ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high levels of quality, safety and efficiency.
- Carrying out first-off and self-inspection to ensure components meet tight tolerances.
- Proving out programmes at the machine and making adjustments where required.
- Working with minimal supervision following training, demonstrating strong initiative and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Reporting tooling requirements to the supervisor.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times.
- Supporting continuous improvement in quality, efficiency and machine performance.
- Undertaking training and development programmes as required.
- Taking a responsible approach to health, safety and environmental risks, reporting any concerns appropriately.
- Carrying out any other duties commensurate with the role.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator is essential.
- Strong experience setting and operating Star and/or Citizen sliding head CNC machines is highly desirable.
- Experience working with Fanuc controls.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling.
- Ability to carry out self-inspection using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Good understanding of health & safety within a manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
Package Details:
- £19 per hour AM Shift / £20 per hour PM Shift
- Shifts available - AM Shift 06:00-14:30 Monday to Friday / PM Shift 14:30-01:00

Our client is seeking a technically focused Technical Sales Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a structural or engineering professional looking to utilise their technical expertise in a customer-facing role. The position is heavily focused on providing engineering support, structural calculations, and technical solutions for building envelope systems, while also identifying opportunities to develop existing and new customer relationships.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients, providing expert technical guidance on composite floor systems, structural roof decking, and façade/building envelope solutions. Although the role has a commercial element, the primary focus is delivering technically compliant and practical engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support and engineering advice on composite floors, structural roof decking, and building envelope systems.
Prepare structural estimations, calculations, and technical proposals in response to customer enquiries.
Interpret structural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Carry out manual structural calculations where required.
Interpret wind loading regulations and structural design requirements to provide compliant solutions.
Liaise with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Support projects from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring technically accurate and commercially viable solutions.
Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations where required.
Assist with identifying new project opportunities and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Work collaboratively with internal engineering and commercial teams.
Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site visits across the UK when required.
Keep up to date with industry standards, legislation, and developments within the construction sector.
Key Skills & Experience
3-5 years' experience within structural engineering, construction engineering, technical support, or a similar engineering focused role.
Structural or civil engineering background is essential.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong understanding of composite floor systems, structural roof decking, façade systems, or building envelope products.
Experience carrying out structural calculations and interpreting wind loading requirements.
Experience using a structural calculation software is highly desirable.
Excellent technical problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical engineering solutions.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to customers and project stakeholders.
Commercial awareness with the ability to identify project opportunities when engaging with customers.
Self-motivated with excellent organisational and project management skills.
Comfortable working independently in a remote role while travelling to customer sites across the UK as required.
