Counterbalance Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative - Nights Salary Nights: £28,080 (£13.33 per hour) + QUARTERLY BONUS + OVERTIME AVAILABLE!! Reference: ASPLIV Shifts: Monday 19:00-06:30 /Tuesday to Thursday 19:30-06:30 + 1 in every 2 Sundays 00:00-06:00 (paid at time and a half - £20 per hour) Do you have experience operating a Gas FLT Counterbalance truck? Responsibilities: Efficiently and accurately handle incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring proper recording and labelling. Operate a Forklift Truck (FLT) Counterbalance to move, stack, and arrange products within the warehouse. Organise and maintain the warehouse to optimize storage space and ensure a safe working environment. Picking and packing orders for dispatch, adhering to quality standards and delivery deadlines. Conduct regular stock checks and maintain inventory accuracy. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet operational goals and targets. Comply with health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the warehouse. Requirements: Valid FLT (Gas) Counterbalance Licence and experience is essential. Candidates without this license will not be considered for the role. Minimum of 2 years' experience. Proven experience as a Warehouse Operative or similar role is highly advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Key Responsibilities Take full ownership of yard operations, driving performance, efficiency, and safety. Manage and maintain accurate stock records - overseeing all incoming and outgoing materials. Ensure quality control of materials throughout processing and dispatch. Oversee logistics and transport, ensuring smooth movement of materials. Maintain high standards of site security, housekeeping, and compliance. Support Health & Safety and Environmental initiatives within your area, working closely with the site H&S advisor. Understand and contribute to P&L performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Lead, motivate, and develop a small team - building a positive culture and improving retention. Work closely with head office (Cardiff) on operational systems, reporting, and business performance. Requirements Must-Haves Proven experience within the metal recycling or scrap industry. Strong leadership and people management skills. A proactive, self-motivated attitude - able to make decisions and drive change independently. Good IT literacy with the ability to use operational or yard management systems. Commercially minded with an interest in understanding financial performance. Desirable WAMITAB certification (or willingness to work towards it). Relevant tickets or licences for yard machinery or plant. Experience managing or supervising in a high-volume recycling environment. H&S or Environmental management awareness.
