Our client, a well-established recycling business, is looking to recruit a Compliance, Health & Safety Manager to oversee health, safety, compliance, and HR processes across three sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys a varied role combining compliance management, auditing, relationship building, and operational support. You will have the autonomy to identify improvements, implement changes, and work closely with teams across the business to maintain high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of Health & Safety across three sites, working closely with Operations Managers, Supervisors, and teams on the yard to ensure standards are maintained.
- Support operational teams in enforcing Health & Safety procedures and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Manage and maintain the company's ISO systems, including record keeping, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and manage ISO audits including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001.
- Liaise with suppliers, ensuring compliance documentation is maintained and following up where required.
- Complete reviews of risk assessments, method statements, and training requirements, supporting any changes to processes or working practices.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Manage HR administration processes including new starter documentation, inductions, payroll information, employee records, training records, and staff reviews.
- Support recruitment activity including advertising vacancies and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Keep up to date with changes to employment legislation and ensure company processes remain compliant.
- Provide oversight of absence management and support managers with HR-related queries.
Requirements:
- NEBOSH qualification is essential.
- Previous experience managing Health & Safety within an industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing ISO systems with a good understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 requirements.
- Previous involvement in supporting or managing ISO audits.
- Strong understanding of risk assessments, compliance, and Health & Safety legislation.
- A proactive approach with the ability to identify improvements and implement change.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with both management and operational teams.
- A hands-on approach with the confidence to work closely with teams on the yard and across the business.
- Experience supporting HR processes would be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in bearing sales who enjoys building long term customer relationships and driving business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Handle a high volume of customer enquiries via telephone and email, providing excellent customer service and technical support.
- Prepare and follow up on quotations, converting enquiries into sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Process customer orders accurately and liaise with internal departments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Provide product advice and guidance, helping customers identify the most suitable bearing solutions for their applications.
- Carry out outbound calls to existing and prospective customers where required to generate opportunities, follow up quotations, and develop new business.
Requirements:
- Previous experience selling bearings is essential.

- Experience using ERP and CRM systems such as SAP, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics would be advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings would be highly desirable.
- Full UK driving licence essential, as occasional use of a company vehicle may be required.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills with a proactive approach to sales.

A leading logistics business is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join its Colchester operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong transport professional to take full ownership of a busy, fast-paced transport function within a general haulage and pallet network environment.
This role is ideal for a hands-on Transport Manager who can lead people, drive compliance, optimise fleet performance and deliver high service levels across a mixed operation including general haulage, groupage, tramping and pallet network activity.
The Transport Manager will be responsible for the overall management of transport operations, ensuring legal compliance, operational efficiency and commercial performance, while developing a high-performing team of planners and drivers.
The Candidate;
CPC Transport Management Qualification
Proven experience as a Transport Manager within a national general haulage fleet
Strong background in general haulage and/or pallet network operations
Experience managing transport teams, including planners and drivers
A commercial mindset with the ability to balance service, cost and profitability
Sound knowledge of national transport operations, tramping and backload optimisation
Strong understanding of transport compliance, driver hours and fleet management
Ability to negotiate and manage third-party haulier relationships and rates
Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
Confident decision-maker, able to perform under pressure and to tight deadlines
Duties and Responsibilities;
Full responsibility for the day-to-day management of transport operations
Leading, coaching and developing a team of planners and transport staff
Managing driver performance, compliance, and engagement
Ensuring full compliance with O-Licence, driver hours, and transport legislation
Overseeing national route planning, inbound and outbound flows, and pallet network operations
Ownership of transport KPIs, service levels and operational performance
Making commercial decisions on fleet utilisation, ad-hoc pricing and backload opportunities
Managing and developing relationships with third-party hauliers and 3PL partners
Negotiating haulier rates and monitoring third-party performance
Overseeing planning systems and transport technology (currently Sterling)
Monitoring fleet performance using tracking and telematics systems
Handling customer escalations and ensuring critical service KPIs are achieved
Driving continuous improvement across the general haulage and pallet network operation
