CNC Programmer

CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator AM & PM Shifts Available Location: Dudley Salary: £19 per hour AM Shift / £20 per hour PM Shift Reference: ASPLIV Industry: Fasteners Our client, a well-established precision engineering business based in Dudley, is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their growing manufacturing team. This position would suit an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator with strong knowledge of CNC machining and Fanuc-controlled machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components in line with customer drawings, specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities: - Programming CNC machinery to produce components to specification. - Setting and operating CNC machines with Fanuc controls. - Working in line with customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements. - Ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high levels of quality, safety and efficiency. - Carrying out first-off and self-inspection to ensure components meet tight tolerances. - Proving out programmes at the machine and making adjustments where required. - Working with minimal supervision following training, demonstrating strong initiative and understanding of manufacturing processes. - Reporting tooling requirements to the supervisor. - Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times. - Supporting continuous improvement in quality, efficiency and machine performance. - Undertaking training and development programmes as required. - Taking a responsible approach to health, safety and environmental risks, reporting any concerns appropriately. - Carrying out any other duties commensurate with the role. Requirements: - Previous experience as a CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator is essential. - Strong experience setting and operating Star and/or Citizen sliding head CNC machines is highly desirable. - Experience working with Fanuc controls. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. - Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment. - Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and tooling. - Ability to carry out self-inspection using precision measuring equipment. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. - Good understanding of health & safety within a manufacturing environment. - Commitment to quality, efficiency and continuous improvement. Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will have: Essential Degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of two years' experience in a similar Electrical Design Engineer role. Experience using AutoCAD Electrical. Experience producing electrical drawings and engineering documentation. Good understanding of EC&I documentation. Strong communication and organisational skills. Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Desirable Experience using AutoCAD Mechanical.
