If this role sounds of interest, Aspion are supporting a UK-leading independent business who are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of daily yard operations and lead a strong team.
Key area of the role – this is a hands-on management role focused on operational flow, workforce coordination, safety, and smooth communication across the site.
Package Details:
• Salary: £40,000–£50,000 depending on level of experience
• 22 days annual leave + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown
• Monday to Thursday: 08:00–17:00 / Friday: 08:00–15:30
• Permanent, full-time role within a respected name in the industry
Key Responsibilities:
• Overseeing and managing a team of 10 within a busy yard environment
• Acting as the central point of communication between the yard, transport team, management, and H&S
• Planning and coordinating material movement in and out of the yard
• Monitoring weekly throughput (currently 300–400 tonnes per week)
• Ensuring all prepared materials are accurately recorded
• Driving efficiencies, productivity, and safe working practices
• Maintaining high standards of environmental and health & safety compliance
• Supporting with FLT and grab operations when required
Requirements:
• Previous experience working within a yard environment
• Proven experience managing or supervising a team
• Strong planning and communication skills
• Keen awareness of health & safety and the ability to ensure full compliance
• FLT or grab experience beneficial
