This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in fabrication, welding, or engineering manufacturing who can confidently review technical drawings, prepare accurate quotations, and support projects from enquiry through to production handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review customer enquiries, drawings, and specifications
- Produce accurate quotations for fabrication and engineering projects
- Estimate material, labour, machining, finishing, and subcontract costs
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing
- Manage multiple quotations and prioritise urgent enquiries
- Support project handover to production teams
- Follow up quotations with customers where required
Requirements:
- Experience within fabrication, welding, or engineering manufacturing
- Ability to read fabrication and engineering drawings

I'm recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a well-established extrusion manufacturer. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, electrically biased engineer to join a growing and technically advanced production environment, working on high-output extrusion and converting machinery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting continuous extrusion operations through both planned and reactive maintenance. This is a key role in ensuring maximum uptime across production lines, with a strong focus on electrical fault finding, mechanical reliability, and process efficiency. The role is electrically biased (60/40 split) and suits someone confident working in a fast-paced, 24/7 production-style environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across extrusion and converting machinery.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns across production lines.
- Fault-find on motors, drives, inverters, sensors, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain and repair vacuum conveying systems including vac pumps, hoppers, and load cells.
- Support maintenance of blown film extrusion lines and downstream equipment.
- Work on slitter rewinders, bagging machines, recycling systems, and film handling equipment.
- Carry out strip down, inspection, repair, and rebuild of mechanical and electrical components.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with strict health & safety and quality standards.
- Work closely with production teams to maintain consistent output and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update CMMS systems.
Support continuous improvement and reliability projects across site.
Key Skills & Experience
- Recognised engineering qualification
- Strong electrically biased background (60/40 electrical to mechanical split).
- Experience within extrusion, plastics manufacturing, manufacturing or similar continuous process environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems
- Good mechanical knowledge including pneumatics, gearboxes, and mechanical assemblies.
- Experience working on extrusion lines, vacuum conveying systems, and packaging machinery preferred
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of equipment performance.
- Strong awareness of health & safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and fault finding on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
Monitor production efficiency and equipment performance to identify reliability improvements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using CMMS / maintenance management systems.

Essential
Time-served engineer or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled).
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment within a similar maintenance engineering role.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills in a production-based environment.
Experience with planned and preventative maintenance systems.
Working knowledge of CMMS / maintenance management systems.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes, packaging equipment, and associated plant machinery.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Desirable
Experience working within a Pharmaceutical, GMP, food, or regulated manufacturing environment.
