I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Groupage Transport Planner to join a large organisation who specialise within general haulage loads throughout the UK
They are seeking a Transport Planner to support the current transport operation in supporting the logistics function and pivotal in offering the customer a positive end to end solution for transport requirements.
The Candidate;
- A minimum of 2 years' transport planning or logistics experience.
- Previous experience within groupage, general haulage or multi-drop distribution.
- Experience planning part loads and grouping deliveries geographically.
- A strong understanding of vehicle utilisation and route optimisation.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Experience working with transport KPIs including OTIF and delivery performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to make decisions within a fast-paced transport environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience using Transport Management Systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- A basic understanding of HGV weights, dimensions and transport terminology.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a planning team.
Duties and Responsibilities;
- lan and coordinate national store delivery routes across a large retail network.
- Manage approximately 15-20 vehicles as part of a wider fleet operation.
- Group part-load and groupage deliveries together geographically to maximise vehicle utilisation.
- Maximise trailer space, drops per vehicle and overall transport efficiency.
- Plan deliveries around customer volumes, store requirements and agreed delivery windows.
- Monitor vehicle movements from collection through to final delivery.
- Ensure deliveries are completed in line with agreed OTIF and service-level KPIs.
- Proactively manage delays, shortages, delivery failures and other operational issues.
- Maintain accurate information within the Transport Management System.
- Work closely with drivers, transport colleagues, warehouse teams and customer contacts.
- Analyse transport performance and identify opportunities to improve routes, utilisation and operating costs.
- Communicate any service issues or non-conformances to customers in a timely manner.
- Ensure transport plans remain legally compliant with drivers' hours, Working Time Directive and operational requirements.
- Support daily, weekly and monthly transport performance reporting.
- Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders and internal operational teams.
- Continuously challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to improve service and efficiency.

The Candidate;
- Transport Planning experience is essential
- Previous experience within the General Haulage Transport industry is highly desirable
- Previous experience of generating return loads
- Ability to work as part of a team and have strong communication skills.
- Previous experience of working to targets in a fast paced environment.
- Must be proactive, highly driven and have the ability to work under their own initiative.
- Must have good time keeping and organisational skills.
- Experience of Tops Management system preferred but not essential.
- Have a basic understanding of Large Goods Vehicles (weights, dimensions and terminology)
- A good geographic knowledge
- An excellent team player, able to work on own initiative and make decisions
- An effective communicator
- A positive attitude towards customer service and continuous improvement
- Ability to question, challenge and improve upon existing processes
Duties and Responsibilities;
- To Plan allocated resource pool legally, compliantly and efficiently ensuring all EU and WTD legislation is achieved.
- Achieve Weekly Vehicle targets and minimise cost against KPI's
- Work closely with colleagues within the planning team to ensure fleet utilisation is optimal.
- Monitor and manage vehicle movements from point of origin to destination.
- Maintain the information entered into TMS / TOPS to the required standard to keep data recording as live as possible.
- Report all non conformances to customers in a timely manner.
- Liaise with customers to agree additional charges accordingly - tolls, demurrage, wasted journey's etc.
- Comply with the Company's trading standards and conditions, including agreed accounting and credit control processes.
- Ensure all jobs are completed in full and charged completed in order for accounts to process invoices.
- Plan other resource when required for holiday cover etc.
- Take appropriate action on any Health & Safety issues reported with due regard to the urgency and risk presented ensuring compliance with the Company's Health & Safety policy.
- Maintain daily contact with depots and Operations Departments to communicate as required,
- Other duties as may reasonably be required of you by the management of the Company.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ships Agent / Logistics Coordinator to join a busy and established maritime operation based in the Humber region.
This is a varied, operational role where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will play a key part in coordinating vessel port calls from initial planning through to departure, working closely with vessel Masters, ship owners, charterers, port authorities, suppliers and internal operational teams.
The position would suit someone with previous experience within Ships Agency, port operations, marine operations or logistics coordination who is looking to further develop their career within the maritime and shipping sector.

The Candidate;
- Previous experience within Ships Agency, port operations, marine operations, shipping or logistics coordination.
- Experience within a ship agency environment would be highly advantageous.
- A good understanding of port operations, shipping documentation and vessel movements.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence dealing with vessel Masters, customers, suppliers and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and practical approach to problem solving.
- The ability to remain calm when dealing with changing vessel schedules or unexpected operational issues.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience with systems such as SAP Ariba or Unify would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours when required.
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Coordinating vessel port calls from arrival through to departure.
- Arranging port services including pilotage, towage, linesmen and other vessel requirements.
- Liaising directly with vessel Masters, officers, crews, owners, charterers and operators.
- Coordinating crew changes, transport, accommodation, stores, medical requirements, water and waste services.
- Attending vessels across the Humber Port area and providing on-site operational support.
- Preparing, processing and maintaining vessel and port documentation.
- Collecting and presenting ship's papers and maintaining accurate operational records.
- Preparing port call cost estimates and customer quotations.
- Supporting invoicing and maintaining accurate financial and voyage records.
- Liaising with terminals, suppliers, customers and port authorities.
- Keeping customers and stakeholders updated throughout each vessel call.
- Responding to operational issues and vessel requests in a calm and professional manner.
- Supporting voyage-related administration, scanning, emailing and client communication.
- Ensuring vessel calls are completed safely, efficiently and in line with relevant operational requirements.
