Operations Manager Location: Lancashire Industry: Metal Recycling Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Our client, a UK-leading independent metal recycling business, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of daily yard operations and lead a team of 10. This is a hands-on management role focused on operational flow, workforce coordination, safety, and smooth communication across the site. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing and managing a team of 10 within a busy yard environment Acting as the central point of communication between the yard, transport team, management, and H&S Planning and coordinating material movement in and out of the yard Monitoring weekly throughput (currently 300-400 tonnes per week) Ensuring all prepared materials are accurately recorded Driving efficiencies, productivity, and safe working practices Maintaining high standards of environmental and health & safety compliance Supporting with FLT and grab operations when required Requirements: Previous experience working within a yard environment Proven experience managing or supervising a team Strong planning and communication skills Keen awareness of health & safety and the ability to ensure full compliance FLT or grab experience beneficial Package Details: Salary: £40,000-£50,000 depending on level of experience 22 days annual leave + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown Monday to Thursday: 08:00-17:00 / Friday: 08:00-15:30 Permanent, full-time role within a respected name in the industry.
