About the Role

Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Northwest with UK travel
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 plus overtime (dependent on experience)

 

The Opportunity

I am working with a highly respected industrial refrigeration specialist supporting major food manufacturing and industrial clients across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to their engineering team.

This is a field-based role with a long-established business known for long serving staff, deep technical expertise, and a genuinely supportive, engineer led culture. The Refrigeration Engineer will be working on large scale industrial and heavy commercial refrigeration systems, primarily within food manufacturing environments.

The Role of the Refrigeration Engineer

As a Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault finding, and support of large-scale industrial refrigeration systems.

The role includes service, breakdown, maintenance, and installation work, supported by in house fabrication and coded welding teams. Refrigeration Engineers are paid door to door, work within a structured standby rota, and benefit from consistent overtime availability.

Travel to customer sites across the UK is required.

 

Typical work includes:
• Industrial and heavy commercial refrigeration systems
• Working primarily within food manufacturing and FMCG environments
• Supporting major food production sites
• Team based installation and service projects
• Collaboration within house fabrication and coded welding teams

This is a hand on, technically challenging role, ideal for Refrigeration Engineers who enjoy working on complex industrial systems.

 

Requirements of the Refrigeration Engineer:

• At least 2 years’ experience as an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer
• Strong background in industrial or heavy commercial refrigeration
• Experience working within food production, FMCG, or industrial environments
• Confident working with ammonia-based systems
• Full UK driving licence
• Willing to travel and stay away when required
